Fringe Dweller

Project Profile

Fringe Dweller is a renovation and extension of a weatherboard cottage in Clifton Hill, Melbourne, by Mihaly Slocombe. Set opposite Quarries Park, the project retains the front rooms as three bedrooms and introduces new shared spaces for family life. Timber floors, curved joinery and a sweeping staircase soften the interior. Upstairs, a lounge and main suite connect with parkland views and mature trees. Downstairs, sliding doors open to a partly sheltered deck and garden, with a self-contained studio at the rear.
